Tips for Your Next Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

It’s important to research the place you plan to visit before your trip. Visit their website to see what activities and food options are available, admission and parking fees and hours of operation. It is best to plan ahead so that you know how to dress, whether or not you need to pack snacks, how much money you will need in addition to admission and parking fees. Some places offer certain activities at an additional price and you don’t want to incur surprise costs.

Here are a few tips to consider when visiting a pumpkin patch:

  • Visit early morning or late in the day to avoid the mid-day heat.
  • Apply sunscreen. A nice fall day can still be sunny.
  • Pack appropriate medication if you have fall allergies in case of any flare-ups.
  • Bring a tote bag or a collapsible wagon for transporting pumpkins, especially if you plan to get several pumpkins.
  • Don’t forget to pack hand wipes and/or hand sanitizer, especially if you plan to eat while there.
  • Be sure to bring cash as some farms only accept cash.
  • Take lots of photos. The kids will love to look back on the memories.
