Inspired by Micheal Rosen and Helen Oxenbury’s 1989 children’s book We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, people across the world are participating in a ‘bear hunt’ during the Coronavirus pandemic.
How does the bear hunt work? By placing teddy bears in the windows of their homes, communities and neighborhoods across the globe are creating a scavenger hunt type activity for kids. While practicing social distancing, whether taking walks or going on a drive around their neighborhood with parents, kids in participating communities are looking for bears that have been displayed in their neighbor’s windows.
If you’d like to read the story to your children before going on a hunt, you can do so here. You can also listen to the story as performed by Micheal Rosen himself by clicking here.
